With all the news about so many people in need after hurricane Katrina stormed across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama leaving New Orleans completely devastated and the Gulf Coast in shambles, there will be many needs that will have to be met. I'm sure the kids and teens across the nation will step up and make a huge difference, whether it's in small, individual ways or in large, collective efforts by classrooms, scout groups, faith efforts or simply a group of neighborhood kids getting together to take care of one small need in their immediate community.
If you have already begun to take steps to help out, don't forget to write me and tell me what your doing and send any photos so I can share them on this blog. If you're between the ages of 9 and 19, check out the contest details at the website and enter this year's contest.
So tell me, what are you doing right now to help? Have you identified an immediate need? Do you know someone who needs help right away? How can you help?
